Merry Christmas!!!
I know it’s a little late but isn’t it the thoughts that count? π
Sharing this cake which I bought for my brother’s birthday late last month, because I forgot to take photos of Christmas trees when I was out. π
This cake is both pretty and yummy! Though it was kinda disappointing that the Santa and snowman weren’t edible. I thought they are made from sugar or chocolate but no, just plastic. π The presents are chocolate though. And the stairs look like marshmallows but they are just cream. π
To update, I received my media from the wordpress team last week but as they are actual images and not linked to my “exported posts”, it took me a while to figure out how to link them to all my previous posts, without having to manually link them one by one.
I knew all along that I had a lot of images but I had no idea I actually have so many! π And there was no way I could remember which image goes where unless I locate them one by one according to their numbers and months, because they are all I had. It definitely doesn’t help that iphone and ipad’s photos are named by numbers up to 9999 so I had a number of repeated ones over the years. And I still don’t understand why they can’t go beyond that naming method. π₯Ί
But still, I really didn’t want to do that manually because God knows how long it would take me. After reading lots of different posts and sites, I improvised while keeping my fingers crossed that what I planned to try out would work.
Luckily for me, it did! π I was quite amazed by my own ingenuity! π€πππ€£
The good news is that all past images have been successfully uploaded and merged with the posts, and I didn’t even “flood” your e-mailboxes. βπ»
I might share how I did it if I have the time because I am sure I am not the only one with that problem. My method is manual and might still be considered somewhat tedious but to me, it’s already a shortcut, and it only took me a few days because I checked every single post to make sure the correct images were embedded.
Perhaps there is an easier method if you are a savvy coder but I am not, so I would want to share it with others like me. π I will just need the time and also figure out a way to show it.
On the other hand, I am trying out Updraft for backups and am currently having difficulty backing things up, and I have already been trying for a few nights. π My backups are always incomplete.
I am seeking a fast way out by using a plugin, on top of my hosting backup, instead of doing a manual backup, but if Updraft fails, I will either try another plugin backup or just do so manually.
I have tested uploading images but weirdly, the pictures look great on my draft posts and on my media, but when I open them up for preview, the images look dull. π« And I have absolutely no idea why?! I didn’t have this problem with my old phone.
This is why I have also been delaying in uploading new posts and there are so many things I want to share. On top of that, I am trying to see if I can optimise old images, without compromising on the resolution and quality, because only upon uploading them this round did I realise some are huge! π
Some updates to look forward to include Chapters Interactive, Pokemon Go Research, one of my purchases and new games that I have been playing.
I will try to share the Chapters one asap because it’s time limited.
Also I have finally changed to a new phone last month (after 6 years π) so hopefully I will share more photos. And this is also why I need to solve the images quality problem. π€
That said, 2020 is coming to an end real soon, so hopefully, everything will be better for everyone soon!
Take care meanwhile, and be safe! π·
